Show proof

Sales counter popup for "17 people bought this today"

A sales counter popup shows how many conversions happened in a recent time window, for example "17 people bought this in the last 24 hours". AutoSocialProof counts the real conversions stored for the widget and any data sources you attach, within the number of hours you choose.

Who uses a sales counter popup?

  • Stores with several orders a day per product
  • SaaS signup pages
  • Course and webinar registrations
  • Local services showing bookings this week

Real data only

Where does the sales counter popup get its data?

Only from sources you connect. Nothing is generated.

If no data has arrived yet, the widget shows its fallback text. Write fallback text that is true for your business.

  1. Its own webhook

Send conversions straight to the counter.

  2. Data sources

Attach a recent-sales popup or collector widget and the counter uses their data too.

  3. Auto capture

Count form submissions captured on your pages.

  4. Sales counter popup

Shown to visitors with your text, theme and timing.

The pixel, once per site
<script defer src="https://app.autosocialproof.com/pixel/YOUR_PIXEL_KEY.js"></script>
  1. Add the pixel once

If your site already has the AutoSocialProof pixel for this campaign, skip this. Otherwise paste the one-line script before </head>.

    Already there.

  2. Create a sales counter popup

In your campaign choose "Create notification", then "Conversions counter". Write the text, pick a theme and a position.

    Looks like my brand.

  3. Connect where the data comes from

Its own webhook, Data sources, Auto capture. Until data arrives, the widget shows the text you wrote, so keep it true.

    Data is flowing.

  4. Pick the moment and the audience

Set the display trigger (delay, scroll, exit intent, time on site, pageviews, inactivity, click, hover or element visible), frequency, pages, devices, countries and languages.

    Product pages, after 6 seconds.

  5. Save, then read the numbers

Impressions, hovers, clicks, CTR and form submissions appear in the widget statistics. Change one thing at a time.

    Clicks are up this week.

What mistakes should you avoid?

Choosing a window so long the number stops meaning "recent".

Showing a small number on a page where one bigger, older number would be more persuasive; pick the window that tells the truth best.

Mixing unrelated data sources, such as newsletter signups counted as "bought".

Plan note: the sales counter popup is included on every plan, including Free (25 widgets, 100K impressions a month). Compare plans.

Sales counter popup questions

How is the number calculated?

It is the count of stored conversions for this widget and its selected data sources whose time falls inside the window you set, for example the last 24 hours.

Can I count signups instead of sales?

Yes. A conversion is whatever you send or capture: a purchase, a trial, a booking, a registration. Just make the wording match what you count.

Can I combine data from several widgets?

Yes. Select other widgets in the same campaign as data sources and their conversions are counted together.

What happens when the count is zero?

Use the minimum display setting so the widget stays hidden until the number is meaningful.

Should I use a counter or individual popups?

Counters work when individual buyers are not interesting, or when privacy matters. Individual recent-sales popups work when the "who and where" adds trust. Many stores run both on different pages.

Does it update in real time?

The number is calculated when the pixel loads the widget for a visitor, so each new page view gets the current count.

Is this available on the Free plan?

Yes, every widget type is available on every plan.

Can I show it inside my page instead of as a popup?

This widget appears as a floating notification in one of 13 positions. Choose a bottom or top bar style position if you want it to feel part of the layout.
